Cinnamon Sugar Donut Muffins

Easy recipe for 12 muffins that taste just like a cinnamon sugar donut!

Servings 12 muffins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Topping

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Whisk together milk, egg, and butter. In another bowl whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Stir into egg mixture just enough to combine.

  2. Fill 12 muffin cups. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.

  3. To make topping, melt butter. In second bowl combine cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla. Allow muffins to cool about 5 minutes. Dip tops of muffins into melted butter and then into the cinnamon sugar vanilla mixture. Stir cinnamon sugar vanilla mixture after every muffin dip; it will help the crumbles stick to the muffin better. Muffins are best served warm.
