Today’s replay is from episode 58, Smart Homesteaders Pay Attention and Prepare Accordingly, which was originally posted on August 19, 2019.
This pre-Covid episode was released near the end of the 2019 growing season, which had been incredibly difficult for small and larger growers alike. There was a lot of talk about food shortages as well as food prices going up. Funny how we’re talking about those same things in our current world almost three years later.
This episode is a sensible look at “open your eyes, look at what’s actually happening, ask the right questions… and prepare for the future in a sensible, no drama, logical, keep your head on straight kind of way.”
I share this because the fear porn in the mainstream media seems to always tell us that the end of the world is coming, everything is horrible, and that we need to be afraid and stressed about this, that, and the other thing. The words in this episode still apply today, but the point is, they also applied almost 3 years ago when I recorded this because we were talking about this same stuff almost 3 yrs ago when I recorded this.
Some people look at what’s happening right now, what the news is talking about right now, and the issues and problems that are presenting themselves, and forget it’s not new. The threads might look different but ultimately the fabric is the same.
I hope you get some perspective, some calm, some inspiration from this episode. Maybe you get a pat on the back or a kick in the pants – whatever you need to take from these words here that originally aired August 19th of 2019.
